Jett's Day 14: Air Force Academy and back to Denver

We got a late check out this morning so we weren't in a hurry to leave. We decided to go by the Air Force Academy on our way out of town, hoping especially to see the chapel. Well...

Jett went around and read the inscriptions on all the monuments.

Here's a picture of our hotel: Embassy Suites in Colorado Springs. We like ES because we can get two separate rooms, a good breakfast buffet, and an evening reception with free drinks and munchies.

As we approached the Academy, we saw several of these planes towing gliders.

Now we're on the campus. Had to go through security (checked IDs)

The stadium

Some of the educational buildings.

Looks like the tail of an airplane, doesn't it?

Tribute to the Mustang

Tribute to the female pilots

Oh no! Look at the date of completion!

And here's the chapel. Sad face.

We tried to find the visitors' center, but got turned around and decided just to forego it.

And we're back to the Rockies!

We will be leaving around noon tomorrow and we'll be back tomorrow evening. We've had a good trip. This evening, Jett and I sat around and shared videos. I showed some of them as a baby and they showed me tributes to the 60s, 70s, 80s, and 90s as well as the band Wings. They are a big 80s fan and also the Beatles.

Looking forward to getting home, but it's been fun.
